Kate has an ongoing working relationship with founder of Naran Automotive Ameerh Naran, leading CMF design on the Naran hypercoupe. Bringing her characteristically unconventional approach to bear on this project, Kate explored materials and techniques not usually associated with automotive such as real stone veneers, flax composites, woven horsehair textiles and traditional craft techniques, such as hand embroidery.
The Naran Hypercoupe exterior was launched in November 2020. An exclusive four seater hypercar, with opportunity for fully bespoke CMF design, this exceptional vehicle is marketed at just under £1 million. Only 49 will be produced. The launch vehicle features a gold leaf pinstripe and specially developed exterior paint palette. As of November 2020 the car has featured on 78 publications including Top Gear Online, Autocar, EVO, Hyperbeast and The Telegraph.
The look and feel direction for the Naran. Subtle, yet dynamic metallics. Silk and fine matte textures.
The final CMF palette featured a custom satin paint finish, silver body with graphite accents and a gold leaf pinstripe highlight.
